  • Covenant V
Ensuring Broad Access to Affordable Neighborhoods that Connect to Opportunity
  • Efforts need to be made to establish a mass transit infrastructure in cities where the transportation system is not effective in connecting neighborhoods of varied social, economical, and cultural characteristics.
  • Every effort should be made to incorporate aspects of more affluent communities in those that are less affluent to create opportunities . i.e. recreational, cultural, and educational facets. (museums, golf courses, etc.)

    Covenant VI
    Claiming Our Democracy

  • Practice recycling, use mass transit systems, stop smoking, etc. Be proactive in encouraging others to do the same and encourage improvements for resources to address these areas

    Covenant X
    Closing the Racial Digital Divide
  • Private sector monies would have to be solicited to make efforts to incorporate technology in neighborhood libraries, schools, malls, etc. in low income areas

Details for the Covenant Party - May 21, 2006

    The day is almost here!

We'd love to have you join us this Sunday as we put the Covenant into action! We have a special message from Tavis Smiley and incentives from One United Bank, including $25 gift certificates to open savings accounts. We'll be raffling off great prizes as well, so make plans to join us for a timely discussion and a fun time!

In order to produce desired results, we've included questions about professional background/industry for each invitee to answer when responding. Please make sure to provide as much detail as possible. We have designed an afternoon of activities to promote networking and fellowship. So please do arrive on time!

    Attire:
This is a casual affair, so dress comfortably. Be yourself, and aim to make a good first impression.

    What you should bring:
Yourself, $5 bucks and your business cards. This IS a networking event, so be prepared to share information about yourself, your interests, and your occupation.

    The donation:
K2S will donate 20% of all proceeds to the HBCU Library Alliance. The remainder will cover expenses for this event.

    Directions:
Click for a map to the event location.

    Parking:

You may park along Canterbury Road or RSVP to the Evite or send us an email for the passcode to enter and park in the lot.

    Just Added!
In the spirit of keeping this fun, even while engaging in serious dialogue, we have opened the pool to our guests! After the scheduled activities have ended, if you feel so inclined, the weather will be gorgeous -- come prepared to take a dip in the pool!
